London, UK, images; building sites, construction site, new properties, skyscrapers
A dramatic transformation of the Nine Elms area, on the south bank of River Thames, is currently taking place; £15bn investment is flooding into this stretch of land where 20,000 luxury homes are being built; one of Europe’s tallest buildings, One Nine Elms, will dwarf Vauxhall Tower once it will be completed
The changes were set in motion with the US Embassy deciding to move their premises from Mayfair to Nine Elms.
The Dutch Embassy is also planning to move there. In October 2014, the Northern Line extension was approved, which will include two new Underground stations between in Nine Elms; a new £40million footbridge will be constructed to connect Nine Elms, on the South Bank, to the northern side of River Thames
Vauxhall’s skyline will include Vauxhall Tower (completed), One Nine Elms (58 storeys), Vauxhall Square (48/50 storeys), Vauxhall Island (32/41 storeys)
